Well basically trying to plan on what to get next. Some information to help you:

Tank: 54 litres / 14 US Gallons

Occupants:

1 Tuxedo Platy,
1 Galaxy Platy,
4 Firetail guppies.

Next id like to get a main centre piece fish or even two, however not sure what would go well? Ive been thinking about getting a pair of Dwarf Gourami, although the more I read up on them the more it puts me off, as ive read if kept in a pair there likely to fight and they are often prone to diseases.

Also I was considering putting another two platy in to keep the other two company, although im not sure if this would be too much stock with the centre piece fish aswell?

So your opinions would be extremely helpful :good:

*side note* My tank is in my sig if you need to see what sort of environment my tank is :)

Don't be put off by dwarf gourami's, there are loads of healthy fish and they really are quite peaceful fish, I have several in my tank. If you are buying them make sure they have been quarantined but then we really should take this precaution with every fish we buy. Just look carefully for healthy looking fish

A pair of dwarf cichlids would be nice, maybe cockatoos,or as mentioned, dwarf gouramis.

I always thought any of the cichlid family couldnt be kept with the type of fish I already have as theyd be to aggressive towards them? Please correct me if im wrong :)

Honey gouramis, a trio of.

With an extra two platy as I suggested? Or just the trio of gourami's and thats it for the tank?

well their are the 3 commonest ones (not a word lol)

bolivian
german blue (the most colourful)
gold (rarer)

all rams have big personalities

So with rams would it be best to pair them up male/male or female/male or female/female? Or doesnt it really matter?

EDIT:

Argh I dont think my water would be the right conditions for a ram after doing abit of research, as my PH is 7.6 and apparently they like it a fair bit lower :(

a male and female,

with the PH, mine is at 7.5 but i got my rams locally sourced from a local breeder, and he breeds in our water with a PH of roughly 7.5.

if you can find one that has been bred in a higher PH etc then youll be fine
