i'm currantly on aol silver whichi'm paying £17.99 a month for and only get 2.2mbps ( i know some people on the same package and only paying £14.99 and some even go as low as £9.99) . lately i've been very dissatisfy with the services aol provide, so i'm looking to change my provider. i don't want to pay more than £15/month for it. which boardband are you with and how easy is the change over?

^^ Snap, we're with Vergin media. Very good reliable service and customer service is excelent. Customer service is free also for genuine faults and the call out usualy next working day. Only had to use their customer services once though, when my brother decided that the modem would work better if it had a little drink.....

What ever you do DONT GO WITH BT, the service they provide is shambolic, if a problem occurs and you need to ring there call line you have to wait arround half an hour before they pick up the phone, then they dont understand what you are saying and dont know how to help so pass you on to another member of staff who then passes you on to another and goes arround in circles for like 3 hours. You carnt cancel the contract once it starts (the service is generally fine until your canceling period ends after 14 days). They want to take more money out of your bank than what they should.

Put it this way once my contract ends i will be moving to another company! I would never recommened them to anyone. It is the worst mistake of my life joining with BT Boardband.

im sure talk talk is now who owns a o HELL but dont quote me on that lol :p

Are AOL that bad, like?? We're getting TalkTalk soon.

AOL are very bad there internet disconnect all the time which if u reply on ur ip then because it's a dynamic ip every time it disconnects it give u a differnet ip , there customer service is none existant, i'd never go with them again even if they gave me it for free :(

Yep just like BT, it disconnects when it wants to too!

Am fighting with AOL atm. just changed house and tried to cancel. But they are telling me a still got a 10 month contract......... I moved house in March 07 and moved the 2 year old account to new address which took over 5 months to be activated in that time they still took payment. The idiots then signed us up to contract instead of a transfer... we only found out last week.

I have rang 3 times now each rep giving me a different story and when I finally got it sorted on Sunday the person said I could cancel this wed without charge. I phone up to do so guess what? Had a rep tell me am stuck on a 10 month contract. That’s just say I ended up cursing and telling them am taking them to small claims court

Avoid AOL!!!!

thinking about going with tiscali. £19.99 unlimited and line rental and free calls included

I'm with Sky, £5.00 per month if you have sky TV, for up to 8mb unlimited, you can get up to 16mb for a tenner, you get a free half decent wired/wireless router and firewall (Mcafee if u want it).

I haven't had any problems, have to restart the router every now and again, but nothing major.

which if u reply on ur ip then because it's a dynamic ip every time it disconnects it give u a differnet ip

Nearly every ISP provides dynamic IP's unless you request (and often pay extra for) a static one.

And what's the problem with a dynamic IP? 99% of users wouldn't notice the difference anyway.

AOL are crap though.
