So I'm stuck with a problem. I want to keep my aquarium collection growing but that's hard when you have small tanks. So I want to get bigger ones but right now the only place a I have room to put a tank is on my porch, it is closed in and has AC But during the winter it doesn't get a lot of heat. Is its still ok to put a fish tank out their is it has a heater in the tank? Thanks

This really depends on the fish you want to keep in it? If your interested in keeping some colder water species then the winter drop in temp won't affect them to bad if it's not a seriously fast drop and it's not super cold.
But if you have an idea what you want fish wise that would help a lot :)

I only do guppies, platys, tetras. basically tropical fish

Well then I'd probably say try to avoid putting the tank in a place where the water will get bellow 74 degrees for any length of time. If you think you can heat the tank enough then go for it.

You might do this in the southern parts of the country like Fl, TX, AZ, CA, LA, MS, AL and NM. The farther north you go the less possible it is and it rapidly becomes a bad idea the farther north you go. Pretty much any place it might snow will be a poor location.

I live in Atlanta Georgia is that too cold?

Probably not to cold but what's the temp during winter there?

You might have a problem with algae if the tank is getting lots of direct sunlight in the porch.
