Ive been looking online and I can't find anywhere online selling a tank of about 5us gallons so I can have a species tank for a betta, any suggestions where to look? Has to be in the UK
We got ours from a small fish shop, it holds 4 gallons and cost £12.99. No heater or filter included. It seems the smaller lesser known fish shops have small, reasonably priced tanks. The only other option is the Aqua One 320 which comes with filter and heater and is normally £40-£50. We got ours from Maidenhead Aquatics, if you google this store you should be able to see if they have one near you.
It depends on how fussy you are Wilkos do a tank for £4.99..plastic...that is large enough for one betta dont know the size. You can also get those living world thingies from pets at home. They are a funny shape though, even the largest one.. but they have them on offer at the moment. One of my bettas went into major sulk when I put him in one...moved him back to his smaller wilkos one and he bubble nested..
Pets at Home in Filton (Abbey Wood) have a load of plain glass tanks that start at £15 (28litres-ish - about 6gal). Alternatively you can get smaller compelte set ups (e.g. I bought an Aqua Start 320 (comes with filter and light in lid etc - you'll need to buy a heater - they're about £18 for 50watts in Pets at Home) and they are on offer at the moment in Almondsbury Garden Centre Aquatics section for £35 - also about 6gal.
Problem in this country is that they have to be heated so I felt a little twitchy about getting a plastic one (plus they don't look as nice!).
Pets at Home may well have the aquastart 320 too - it's worth a look.
