Im wondering if anyone could tell me the name of some shops in the UK that sell playsand?

Do you think Wilkinsons is worth a look?

Also what type of peat do i use for a fish tank, just the normal stuff or does it have to be some special type? Do i have put the peat in some tights in the filter or put some on the top of the sand? (im doing a blackwater set up)

Thanks

No idea, sorry :/ . try asking in the Plants and Planted Tanks section.

Peat can be bought from any garden center but must clearly say that is is 100% organic moss peat with no additives. This should also NOT be confused with sphagnum moss which is still green and will not work in the same way.

Alternatively it can be bought in nice user friendly boxes in its dried form from any good lfs, but beware it is very expensive when bought this way.

I wouldnt of thought B&Q and Hombase would sell playsandmore into everyday garden sand... i guess i thought wrong.

Thanks for the help so far.

CFC or anyone, do you know how much peat would be needed for a 28gallon tank to take effect in lowering pH and softness?

I was just about to ask "since when is playsand out of season" but figure it must be during winter when it's unlikely to build sand pits :dunno:
