Where To Buy Large Quantities Of Fish?

[Cooper2085]

Im looking at buying in bulk some Corydoras and L-Plecs for breeding programmes and re-sale purposes.

The breeding side is mainly to satisfy my own curiosity and try my hand at different types of fish, the re-sale is to help cover the cost. Iv been doing alot of research on the subject but seem to keep hitting the wall because no one will sell wholesale to me unless i have a pets licence.

I dont really want to take the plunge and get 1 because atm i just dont have the space to do this on a large scale. How do you guys get around this? Do you have any names and numbers that would help me?

I suppose it depends on what you class as bulk. do you class 3 pairs as bulk or is 6 pairs bulk?, if they wont sell you as many as you want, buy what you can and shop arround, using other stores. Start small, you dont want to buy loads of different fish then runout of room. Take small steps, dont run before you can walk!

There's a seller on ebay who sells fish by the 20-50, they might be able to do you a good deal.

Never used them so can't comment on quality/service but they seem to have good feedback.

Do a search on the internet, as some breeders will sell directly to the consumer instead of going through "middle men".

They should be able to give you a better deal than the fish stores that have the fish for resale.

Well iv had some contact back from the local council and from a few suppliers. Looks like i would need a pets licence BUT looking at some of these prices, getting a licence would be worth it. I could buy in bulk fill my tanks, keep what i need and sell the rest on, i could cover the price without much hassel.
