where to buy female dwarf gouramis

I'm having trouble finding neon female dwarf gouramis, and most of the LFS around here seem relucant to order just two or three for me. Has anyone ever tried ordering them online from a place like aquariumfish.net?

Are you looking for NEON BLUE dwarfs in particular? Just curious If you are I suppose you're planning to breed them right?

Anyway to answer your question, no I haven't but I see no reason why not to give it a try. However, aquariumfish.net would not be my favourite place to order fish from. Maybe I'm just biased because they sell dyed fish and have a little bit of mis-leading info on the site but it's up to you in the end.

I've never seen any females of those new colors of dwarf gourami. My lfs cannot get any of them either. IMHO, the breeders will not sell them because they want to keep all the profits for themselves.

I simply will not buy the males. I suggest you don't either. If everyone would do that, perhaps someday they will learn that greed does not pay.

You would be better off with dwarf gouramis. You can get females from Walmart for under $2.00, males, too, of course.

Not the most reliable of stock, but with quarantine and getting to the fish right when the stock comes in, you can gte ok stcok. Nurse them back to health and you are set.
