Before I go off on my 6 week holiday, I need to move my 2 female guppies out of the fry tank to give the fry room to move, as I can't trust the fishsitters to deal with this. Question is where should they go. The options are:

Rekord 60, heavily overfiltered+ currently containing 4 peacock gobies, 1 undersized male platy and 1 amano shrimp.
Advantages: certainly plenty of room. Disadvantages: might outcompete the peacocks for food.

Rekord 70: extra filtration+ currently containing 4 peppered corys+ 2 male platies+5 amamno shrimps.
Advantages: again there is room. Disadvantages: one of the male platys is a bully, the only reason his chum is able to stay in with him is he works hard on his submissive body language. All the other platys have had to be moved out.

Rekord 240: standard filtration but understocked, contains 2 bristlenoses, 5 porthole livebearers+some fry, 7 female platies.
Advantages: no bullies that I know of (unless the male portholes find them attracive), nobody they can outcompete for food. Disadvantages: I will NOT forgive them if they eat the porthole fry (though I have to say, they've never shown any signs of eating their own fry). Might get pursued by male portholes (though these totally ignore female platies).

id go woth the last option, if you have trusted them with thier fry then i wouldnt think they will eat the porth hole fry either :D , but its a risk i surpose, but 1 that you may have to take :/

Thanks folks. Bit nervous about moving the porthole fry as I don't know how sensitive they are to changes in water quality. But I might chance it with the female guppies going in with them- they have never shown any interest in fry-eating and those young portholes would be difficult to catch. Perhaps my greater worry is that the adult male portholes might nip the gups. But it's probably my best bet. Better than moving them in with the male platies that have no females of their own to occupy their minds, and definitely better than letting them take the food out of the mouths of my poor peacocks.

have the fry in a tank by them selfs. thats the best thing to do.
