Hi everyone. I was counting my fish earlier on today and have noticed one of my yellow tailed guppy's is no where to be seen. He is one of the newest additions to my tank and I have just had him a week. He was never as active as my other two and could not seem to be able to hover in the water without floating to the top. At first thought I thought it had swim bladder problems but the day after it was darting around and feeding well. I now believe it is probably dead as it is know where to be seen. Its impossible it could of been sucked into the filter as the ceramic media would of stopped him. I have another idea that sounds crazy but I just wanted to check. Would it be possible that my large rounder tailed guppy of turned cannibalistic and have eaten my missing guppy? I am going to do another careful check this evening to make sure it is not trapped between some pebbles etc. Please comment on what you think as I really do not want it ( if dead ) to pollute the tank. Thank you.

Hi guys. I have sadly found him dead hidden from view behind a rock. So there is no need to worry about polluting the tank and replying.

im so sorry for you, i know you dont want replys but its just so tragic that he died so early, do you think it was because of water problems or maybe a too fast current?

I think it got something from it's retail tank before I bought it or got damaged in the netting process. The shop I go to is really good. However, it must be hard to see if all the fish are well especially when most are identical! The other guppy's seem fine and are very lively so it can't be water problems. It was unwell when I bought it but hard to see in the plastic bag. Thanks for the post.
