i had a male betta, we went away for 1 day, we came back and it wasnt in the twould the tank. would the other fish have eaten it??? they are mollies, a platy and some clown loaches.
i doubt platies, mollies or clown loaches will have eaten it,
with clown loaches, a big tank is needed, so either your clown is in a too small tank, or the betta is hiding somewhere in the large tank.
it could have jumped out
i can't see those breeds of fish being able to dispose of a betta corpse in 1 day, if he had died. I'd have a look around the tank a bit more, or the ground if it doesn't have a lid
The best advice I can give follows fishboy's. Have a good look round the tank, checking everywhere, even if you think that there is no way your betta could have fitted into a spot. I once had a female fighter who managed to work her way through a tiny little hole into my filter system.
I can't see the other fish having made that much of a meal out of him unless they were extremely hungry-surely there would be something left?
If you think that there is any possibility of him having escaped, take a good whiff of the air-I've found dead fish go smelly very quickly.
sorry i wasnt trying to offend anyone, i just say "it" because well..no reason really, just comes natural when i type so i cant call a male fish a she and a female fish a he
