I've always wanted to try using real plants in my tank. But all the local fish places have a very small selection. And what they do have are very poor quality, usually small, and dying. I've been browsing through and I see so many beautiful planted tanks. Where do you guys find your plants?

I get some of mine from aquabid.com in the plant section. The plants I have bought from the seller lowcoaster have been great.

Try ebay ive got some good plants on there just be sure to check the feedback.

Thanks for all the great sites. The thought of ordering them online never occured to me.

Welcome!

Where do you live?

Yea, ordering online mainly depends on where you live. Some US sites are:

aquabotanic.com
aquariumplants.com
aquariumgarden.com
azgardens.com
aquaspotworld.com

Some UK sites:

aquaessentials.co.uk
www.aquaticplants.eu.com

Tropica are the best plants. I found this out in a comparison to the next best which was Greenline own frown.

Get the from Aquaessentials to receive great plants with complete root systems, not just cuttings.

Wow this thread is great!

I'm going to sound niaeve but I never realised you could buy plants online! :)

I've been looking at stockists around my area and have been dissapointed that they rarely have the plants that I want. And on more than one occasion I have been stung with the plants having 'live' snail eggs on them.

Thanks once more.

Snail eggs will always be an issue. Its part and parcel of it. You can with a bleath bath of 19 parts water to 1 part household bleech. Soak them for about a minute to rid the eggs.
