Alltho ive heard AE is good, the price kind of puts me off
That's the thing isn't it? From one of the cheaper online sources you can plant your entire tank for about £20-30 tops. Go for Tropica and you are looking at spending more than £100 for the same quantity of plants.
My advice is get your stems and things like swords, crypts etc from Plants Alive or Java or better yet other hobbyists, then buy your slower growing plants from TGM or AquaEssentials.
