Where Do I Put Non Return Valve?

I have a pump connected to an airstone. I just bought a non return valve on amazon but where do I put that? Thanks

Do I cut the airline and put it between that? So the airline is in the pump still and the stone and where I cut it the valve connects the two?

Put it inbetween the pump and the airstone out of the water. You just cut the airline tubing near the pump and then connect both ends of the valve making sure that the valve is the right way round, mine have always had an arrow on.
