Where Are They Going?

OK, so recently i have had a new tank, i transfered ALL my filter media and fish in to this new tank along with a few new fish. I lost one of the new fish but to be honest he was acting out of place almost straight away.

Today i found the fish in some plants, but two of my older fish (emporer tetras) have gone mia. I have checked in all the plants but nothing, no bodies, just nothing

The test showed,

Amonia - 0
Nitrites - very tiny colour change - due to new fish being added?
Nitrate - 20

I have changed 50 litres

Could the fish be in the heater part of the filter? I took the rest of the filter out, pump, heater and media and could not find anything


I also have a textured background but it is flat to the glass, i can't see anywhere where they could have got behined it

jumped out ? i lost a red eye tetra about 4 months ago, no idea where it went. i was under the tank fitting an external filter last week, and i happened to find a very crispy red eye tetra. no idea how he got out, but he did.

They were stuck between the end of the background and the filter

Still alive at the moment, they were there for 24hrs +

I had a danio stuck behind a filter for about a week. When i finally found him he didnt have a tail!!! It grew back though
