Where Are The Experts?

i just bought a 3 gallon tank. i got two bundles of mango grass?? and amazon sword. the tank looks ok...i need a piece of wood in there(pics later). any special care for these two plants? i have the bright florescent light on the hood and when i take that off i have a nice desk lamp..which lamp is better for them? they share the tank with 7 ghost shrimp.

i dont know what mango grass is? Do you know the scientific name?

no special care for the sword, just a basic fert will help and some root tans every few months

What wattage are both of the lights?

my lamp is 14 watts...its one of the newer energy effecient bulbs...it will last for 9 years and doesnt get hot (perfect for the tank). as for the scientific name, i have no idea. it looks like a clump of grass that would grow in my yard...about 10 inches tall and stringy...heres a pic

The plants don't look aquatic to me. Mondo grass or something.

14 watts is ok, the plant doesn look aquatic to me either (mongo grass).

If you want a similar plant, then go for vallis.
