so far i have lost 9 neon tetras, and a few pristellas. not sure whats going on, ph, amonia, nitrates, nitrites all fine. i must add that this is an established, heavily planted 55 gallon running double filtration. all fish have been with us for 2 years....and have never lost one.....so this is very confusing....as for symptoms....fish seem to be hiding more, less active, and some of them apear to be bloated. although the dead neons had no teltale symptoms....there are no visual symptoms...no ick, no fungus ect....although my bloated dwarf gourami had some stingy white poo.. some of the fish seem fine also(whiptail fins nice and high, as well as twig fish catfish)
i need to know what this could be, if i keep waking up to dead fish soon the tank will be empty!
i also need treatment thats safe for:

bleeding hearts
pristellas
dwarf gourami
zebra danio
cory cat
twig fish catfish
whiptail catfish
apple snail

Being bloated and long stringy white poo can be constipation or a bacteria infection plus internal parasites, what do you feed the fish, can they maintain there balance in the water, are scales sticking out like a pinecone, try some shelled peas and frozen daphnia.

have tried the peas, and their diet is mostly daphnia and blood worm, although a while back my husband bought tubifex worms, but the package said parasite free....no sticking out scales, and they seem to keep their balance

Right for now i would try the peas to see if it helps, boil some peas for a few minutes, let cool, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to the tank, i would give them some more peas tomorrow as well, check the anus to see if it red and inflamed or enlarged, are they still eating.

How long did you try the peas for, also have the fish darkened in colour.

another loss today....no more neons and now a zebra danio has bit the bullet.....water tests are still good, been trying the pea and daphnia thing with no luck.........what should i do now, its very sad to see dead fish everyday....

If there bloated and no inflamed anus for now, and you are losing alot of fish i would try anti internal bacteria med, good luck.Watch out for internal parasites, prutruding from the anus.
