When To Remove Seed Material

So, I used a mesh bag full of gravel from an established tank as seed material to cycle a tank. The thing is, I am kind of afraid to take it out. The tank has been fully cycled for about 3 months and the bag is all nasty and covered in algae. Someone just tell me that nothing will happen if I take the bag out.

Take it out & put it in a bucket of old tankwater. Then keep a check on your lvls.

I think it should be fine.

Take it out and put it back where you got it. That sample of media has served its purpose.
