When should I add Prime?

Hi folks,

When should I add prime during a water change? Before a water change, during or after?

Should I just add prime to the new tank water or the aquarium?

If possible add it to the new water before adding it to the aquarium.
If this is not possible (e.g. you are filling directly from a hosepipe) drain the old water, then add the prime and turn on the tap. In this case the instructions say dose enough for the entire tank rather than just what you add. I use this technique when filling my pond because I am not going to use a bucket for 4000 liters of water.

Lovely stuff, thanks Sean. I am able to add the prime to the new water prior to adding it to the tank.

Add dechlorinator in a separate container with the water, or add it into the tank before filling it up with water(make sure to temp match).
