she has a pretty dark gravid spot, and i know thats not her natural coloring becuase the male doesnt have that, and they are both marigold swordtails. i cant tell if she is squared off or not, she is not really fat but a little bit above average. also, she is not that big only 1+ inches and i think i see a birthing tube but im not sure.

EDIT 3: overhead pics, on the first one you can clearly see she is pregnant

Hey, my molly is the same way, she's squared off now for about 2 days and she still hasn't givin birth, I'm not sure if mollies and swordtail pregnancy are the same (I'm assuming they're similar because they are both livebearers...) anyways I'm guessing, maybe about 1 week or less.. Not sure for sure though, so don't take my word for it... When my swordtail was like yours, it took about 3-4 days and then she had her babies....

pictures?

birthing tube :S ?

theres no such thing

Then what's that white tube like thing near their anal fin? My molly has it too? (it's not sticking out very much, but it kept "contracting" like getting big and small

Nope, her skin isn't streching, she's a black molly and this a clearly a white tube.. it's weird though.... it's right near her anal fin, and she's only had it since she's been getting bigger with the pregnancy, the last 2-3 days or so..

there is a birthing tube its when the female is giving birth its a small white bump with a black center

There is such thing as a tube, it is the tube the fry are born through. Normally however, it doesnt show, all you can see is a little white spot. If it is fully out and contracting, it may mean the fish is aborting her pregnancy :(

got any articles on it? birthing tubes? where did you hear about it?

Oops, sorry, lol ya, I'm not sure, maybe a couple more days, I heard when they get really big and squared off then it's almost ready to have them.. (but you probably already know that)

if you read 5teadys pinned article on how to tell if your livebearer (LB) is ready to drop. it talks about what to look for when an LB is close to dropping, including birthing tubes/spots
