Can't seem to find anything about this on the net unless it's for specific breeds of guppy's have had the guppy fry for nearly a month now the mother's are yellow bodied with orange n purple tails 2 of the fry that i can see seem to have small black dot's on there tails but the rest are still all yellow/beige coloured i turned up the temp in the tank cause i had it a lil bit low was sitting 24-25oC now at 26-27oC i do a small water change every 2 days and feed them a mixture of brine shrimp blood worm and crushed flake going to try and get some live food at the weekend

When do they normally start to get there colour? Also when can i sex them ? not that i want to seperate them it's just so i know how many males n females i have. Some of them are darker in colour almost a grey/blue colour while the rest are the yellow/beige colour

And also if my females drop again will these fry eat the newborn fry ? i'd say i have a week left with one of them and 2-3 weeks left with 2 more and the other 3 still have a few weeks left to go too

:D

It usually takes anywhere from 6-12 weeks (depending on the color strain) for any significant color to develop. The darker colored Guppies, tuxedos and such, will get color more quickly. It really depends on their growth rate, what they are fed, water temps. and size of tank. They will develop much more quickly if they are in a larger tank with warmer temps and fed on a good quality diet. The fry in my turtle pond grow twice as quickly as their siblings in my fry tank.

Yes 6-12 weeks and your know for sure by the colouration.
