My fry are two weeks four days old and after a water change today I noticed several darting to the surface and gasping at it. I have heard from different sites that they are suppose to breathe at 10 days, or 3 weeks, or 5 weeks... which is correct?? After they "breathed" little bubbles came out of their mouths just like the adult bettas. Hmm...

Any thoughts? Here's a pic of one breathing.

Thanks!

It's usually about 3 weeks and your's are not far off that, so seems about right that they are going up for air. Just make sure the air is warm and humid, because if it's too cold it can kill them as their labyrinth organ won't be developed enough.

Great pic btw :good:

Lol......It's like reliving my first spawn all over again. You forget all the little things you used to worry about and I was a nightmare fussing over them all the time lol

 I'm just so glad there are people who can answer all these questions!! I can't wait until I can actually sit back and just enjoy future spawns because I have some experience!! :p
