When Can You Sex Fry?

Right now there are about 8 platy fry and they're growing at a really good rate. But I'm wondering when they're gonna pick a sex already? Heh.... Right now, they all have the fin like a female has. I just want to be able to seperate them before they try to mate with eachother.

I'm watching about 25 fry of my own grow right now too. A combo of guppies, and two platies. LOL I do a lot of research on them and the numerous sites and forums I've visited have all said around 3 mths. That's when you should be able to tell the sexes of the fish. Congrats on your fry!

I was always told 4 weeks for guppies. But it is usually 3-4 months for platies, mollies, and sword's

yeah im watching a platy grow that ive managed to save from being eaten.. its about a month and i still cant sex it yet. ive also heard it takes about 3-4 months to distinguish so i guess i just have to sit and wait

Heh... I actually didn't do anything to save these fry other than putting a net over the filter intake. I only spotted 6 fry at first, but then they disappeared for a few days so I thought they had died or got eaten.
But then about a week later, I spotted their cute lil butts swimming down near the bottom. Then yesterday I counted 2 more. There might even be more that I just can't see!
I'm really excited to see what they look like when they get bigger!
