I have recently finished an ick treatment in one of my tanks. During the process of treatment one of my female guppies had fry. I put them in a birthing net while the fish were under treatment. My question is when can I put the fry in my fry tank without affecting the other fry?

From what I hear is when they're about an inch in length, or at least too big to fit in the other fish's mouths easily, and depending on the temp you maintain them at and what you feed them, can take anywhere between 2-3 months. I just got some red platy babies today, and I'm about to count them out and put them in groups in small holding tanks in my bathroom as the warmest room downstairs where I dwell the meantime, but the 1 inch safety size is what I'm hearing.

I forgot to mention that the treatment in the tank is done. I would like to remove the fish from the net as it is small, but my fry tank is 30 gals and they would have plenty of room to hide and roam. the current fry in the tank are under an inch and would not bother the new ones.

thanks prior to any answers that come my way!!

You must wait until the treatment in the tank has been there for at least a few days after the last sign of ich existed in your tank. After that, it will be safe to move the fry to another uninfected tank. I assume that is the nature of your question.
