Just wondering! I love to call my bettas n fish angelic names like Blessing, Halo, Life n that stuff lol Im wierd!



Tell me what kind of names you like giving your fish

The only fish i have with names that ive given them are Arnie and Christine!!lol They're from a Stephen King book!

My RTBS was named Ruby by Sasha if i remember correctly! Thats a pretty name!

Me and my brother had two Goldfish called Salt and Vinegar when we were really young!

Oooh... i forgot, my 2 albino cories are called Cory and Dora.. wonder where those names came from?!

I have two gold Mollies, one has red eyes so is called Red, the other has black eyes so is called Blackie, two white Mollies called Bully and Baby (cos one's a bully and one's a baby) and a male swordtail called Shim, cos he shimmers.... i never said I had an imagination!!

Sonny & Cher - 2 black moors (Other members: "Oh Red, we are SO sick of hearing about Cher"!)

Paul McCartney & Ringo (2 remaining sterbais cory - George Harrison & John Lennon having passed away) Actually I think Ringo might turn out to be a girl in which case he'll be re-named to Linda!

S-Club - the neon tetra school (formerly S-Club 7 till one died in a rock)

Versace (Giant pearl danio - Gucci & Armani sadly have left me too)

Ursula, Allison, Marian and Shereen (4 female Guppies, named after the HR department at work coz they're not very bright)

Venom (albino red-fin shark named by my daughter)

Dali (goldfish - I'm a HUGE fan of his Time series statues)

Daisy (all white "gold"fish - belonging to my daughter)

Nemo (yellow goldfish - Yes, I KNOW, named by our au-pair, foreign & not too clever either)

FB (two-tone goldfish - named by my 10 year old son after Fat Bastard (sigh) in Austen Powers films)

2 red claw crabs - Pinchy (for obvious reasons) and Sticky (coz it got stuck in the net!)

Hubba & Bubba - 2 Zebra Danios - Don't ask me why or which is which.


Oh my God - I have 2 other nameless Danios! Suggestions on a postcard please...!

4 male guppies - very pretty but also nameless. Perhaps The Guildford Four as we live near there?! Or maybe I could name them after Busted or is there only three of them? I don't know!


That's all for now but be afraid, be VERY afraid coz there's a new 4ft tank cycling as we speak! (I'm saving "Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch" for that special shoal which will no doubt be along soon!)

They all are!! They're my first fish, and I can't believe how soppy I'm getting over them. Only got them today! About 11 o'clock they all got tired, and found their own little places and went to sleep.... awwwwww. I turned the lights off and tippy-toed out the room.... now me and the cats are holed up in the kitchen so we don't wake the fishies up!!!!

My mom was brought up catholic so she wouldn't let me name one of my silver dollars Jesus so the fish is now controversially named Jebus.

Oddly enough Jebus has a goal in the tank and that is to make everyone swim in his direction.

The only non converters are usually the cories who amuse themselves in playing leap frog and find the croaking catfish

I have a funny one. I have 2 very plain guppies so I named them

Plain n Jane

Also had a orange swordtail (she died) named Tomato so I ended up naming her 1 and only fry Cherry Tomato who is about 2 months old now.

Those are just cute names I think


I have named most of my fish too but more normal names like Polly, Saber is my male swordtail I also have 2 lyretails named Fred and Frank.

Ok I better stop now or people will probably think I'm crazy too

Male Guppy: Peaches
Male Dwarf Gourami: Romeo
Female Dwarf Gourami: Juliet
Male Peppered Cory: Yami

All four RTBS's and one Bala (one at a time) were called Sharky the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th and 5th.

Both Rams were and are called Fred.

One tiger barb is called Bubba (from 'Forest Gump') 'cause he jaw is forced open and wont close.

No other serious names that I and my family keep to.
