So I go out tonight to get my favorite piece and get it ready for my lobster tank(Looked just like my females claws all I woulda had to do is make it blue for a match). Somone actually stole a piece of driftwood out of my back yard.... Driftwood...... realy?... What is wrong with people..... sorry just had to share this bit of OMG. prolly some dumb kid wanting to try and make a sling shot....but still...realy?...

sorry to hear that. maybe you misplaced it? seems crazy someone would steal a piece of wood!? or maybe they didnt realize you wanted it? like u said a kid maybe saw it and thought it was just a random piece of log, didnt even think u were using them.

They were on my picnic table in my fenced in back yard. I have busted two or 3 teenagers short cutting through it before. So far non have been dumb enough to try it when My Borio (beagle/sharpae/pug). was in the yard. Think 45 pound beagle with the jawline and shoulders of a pitbull.... She may have eaten part of it if she found it but I cannot even find pieces lol

My parents are in the middle of getting a new bathroom fitted and one of the first processes was to remove the shower cubicle. Well the two big glass(or maybe perspex, I'm not sure) doors were put outside the front door of the house and left there over night. The next day they were gone. I mean, who steals two used shower doors? The area they live in is quiet and orderly too.. mainly families and young people and none of the properties are rented out so it's not like there's even gangs of youths or drunken students wandering around.

We couldn't believe it! Seems like nothing is safe! Someone did steal the box off the top of my mams car once actualy.. she's a driving instructor. Luckily one of the neighbours rescued it from a field not far away. I wonder what the shower doors are being used for now though.. hmmm

I had my dustbin stolen a few weeks ago

It wasn't even new and had a massive dent in the side :(

My sister used to do a paper round. She got off her bike once and left it by the gate to deliver a paper. When she turned around, the bike was gone.

Some people are dirty thieves and will pretty much steal anything that's not bolted down. I once had someone steal the welcome sign off my front door. I wish I could've caught the little effer..I would have given him a big welcome....my fist going through his teeth for starters.

Some people will steal anything. I once had a an old, cheap, frayed, chewed leash stolen off my front porch. I kept it in a bucket next to the door behind a 2' wall. Someone actually had to come up to the door to know it was there at all.. Another time we were rebuilding a section of a wood fence. A storm rolled in pretty suddenly so we left a 6 foot section of fencing leaning against the side of the house until the storm passed so we could finish. Someone took it. A 6 foot section of rotted wooden fence. Sometimes you really gotta wonder what's going through peoples minds..

I do think there's something wrong with these people. They just take stuff because they can.

I didn't complete my story - we found my sister's bike dumped about half a mile away a few hours later. It wasn't that they stole it because they wanted it, they just did it because they could. It's a sad, sad world.

Thanks, that shower door made for a nice new cover on my fish tank! lol

Lol @ shower jokes ;)

RE: Dust bin thieves, I moved into a flat with my girlfriend just under 2 weeks ago and already someone has taken/stolen our blue recyling wheely bin. Unless someone took it to recycle into a newer bin for us, I'm not very pleased about it to be honest!

RE: Bikes, My dad has had his mountain bike stolen from the garden in the middle of the day once, which involved someone climbing over the 6 foot fence and then back over with the bike since the gate was locked. Also had his motorbike stolen from the same garden but we found it about 200m away because the dummies hadn't realized there was no engine :D <- this was in a more, "lively" area than the house they live in now though so the shower doors are still the most surprising to me hehe

To be fair, I don't think (if it was a child) that they thought a piece of wood would be of use to someone when left in a back garden.

Still one of lives little annoyances. :grr:

James.
