my male seahorse has now got a rather orangey looking colour pouch over the last day, he has also go a brighter colour in general. what could this mean?
thanks in advance

Could mean hes dyeing, since your new we dont know much about your system why dont you tell us about water paramiters, food, tank, filters, tank mates, and inverts and plants.

It don't think it means he is dying.

Go to this site www.seahorse.org

They will be able to help you. There are also a lot of members from the UK there.
If you post here, you will get a tirade about keeping seahorses. Not worth the bother. Go to the site and fix your horse.

What does that mean? a "tirade" about keeping sea horses? I dont know many people on here that do? :dunno: ANd the replies she has had in this post show none of that!

Well,
you should do a search for seahorses and read some of the threads.
Navarre and I decided long ago that it wasn't worth the drama and that anyone wanting info on seahorses should be directed to either syngnathid.org or seahorse.org.

I didn't mean any offense by my post. I think even OPCN will agree with me that the topic of keeping seahorses causes many emotions to flow.

Oh...ok. Sorry, just sounded like something different! :D No worries at all. I think thats a grea idea. I coulcnt think of many ppl here that actually kept seahorses!

u'd accually be surpprised at how well sea horses can do in an aruarium if it is consructed around their needs rather than the needs of other fish. its true that unless you have a decent sized tank its set up right, sea horses wont live long, they are pretty delicate, but i know a guy who has a sea horse set-up, he's had some of them for about 3 years now.
