as you can see the right eye looks larger as its been pushed away from the head its got a red mark which has only appeared over the past few hours

im aware of a problem with fish called Pop Eye? if thats what its called could this be "Pop Eye" or could he of just bumped his eye of something in the tang and its brused?

-he seems to be swimming into everything as like he dosnt know that the object is there :/ and any other time hes lying at the bottom of the tank near the gravel and seems to be shivering?

My molly went the same.I despatched it to protect the other fish.I thought it was pop eye but dont know.It just appeared overnight.

as far as i can tell he was alright i though his eyes looked abit poped out away from his face yesturday but i left it as i never really payed much attention to his eyes it was just while feeding him today i noticed the brusing if you like had appeared in just a few hours he was fine this morning a went to work and came back to find his eye like that

didnt by any chance get yours from pets at home did you?

I just noticed this on one of my mollies today as well. I separated her in a sick tank and treated with Fungus Care. It says to take out the carbon filter and I'm wondering how long I should leave it out for? Thanks.

as far as i know your carbon filters are used for the dissolveable waste in the tank a believe fish poop breaks down and dissolves into ammonia? somebody correct me if im wrong but tbh i wouldnt remove it at all really a suppose if you use a liquid treatment, it dessolves into the water so if you need to take it out i wouldnt take it out for no more than a day or 2 hopefully somebody else will comment giving you a more better answer. :good: but i dont think pop eye is a fungus problem is it? a would read up on that one mind

The only time you need carbon in your filter is to remove chemicals , usually used after periods of medication to remove the meds , if you have carbon in your filter after a week or so it will simply just be standard media such as a coarse sponge, yes it will slowly colonise with bacteria but the feature of carbon becomes useless. Bottom line - take it out and replace with other media , keep it for removing meds if you need to Medicate your tank.

my other molly has it now #93### man this is starting to get on my nerves now

it is obviously a diease if it is spreading. I would treat them for pop eye with what is recommended at your lfs...I forget what causes it
