sorry about the news, it could be high levels of nitrite/ammonia

Did you check your water status after your fish died..

Not really. Guppies are hardy fish and are not really botherd about nitrate and ammonia. What else is in the tank? Were there any physical signs of damage? and how long ago did you get them. I see your new to tto the fourm and was just wondering if it was likewise for fish keeping. If you didnt get them long ago then it could be stress. was it feeding ok? Sorry for all the questions.

And im sorry to hear about your loss.

Guppies are nowhere near as hardy as they used to be, due to constant and unrestricted breeding. All fish are susceptible to, and are affected by ammonia. Ask the many posters here who have lost Guppies even in a newly-cycled tank.

id post your stats and tank stocking just to be safe, we'd rarther help now than you loose more later :good:

did it show any breatheing changes? (faster/slower)
did the gills look inflamed/pale?

Has anyone on this forum come across a fish that is "not really bothered about ammonia"? Some hardy fish (among which most of us would no longer count the guppy) can withstand low levels of ammonia, but high levels of ammonia kill fish. Full stop.

Yes, I had to read that post two or three times just to make sure I hadn't imagined it.
