well now my small male boesemani is breeding with all the other ones in the morning on my owl statue, but as soon as they "do it" they eat the eggs? then thats finished the gold barbs mate in the same place!! and they eat the eggs to! and lastly my praceox rainbows are doing it as well. i want to think they are breeding or is it just a quickie?

None of those fish have paternal instincts so will just eat the eggs in the wild they would breed in dense plants and then the eggs would fall out of sight and the fry stay hidden until they are big enough to join the main school. Its quite normal behavior and a good sign for your tank well done!! If you wanted to breed them have a read up on how to do it, its often quite simple involving marbles or floating plants

thats why i have the owl because its hollow on the inside with small holes leading into it, which would be perfect if a few eggs floated in lol
