Hi,

i have a 190L tank with 3 small angels and 2 juvenile discus. i got the discus wednesday and they have been great up til now, one of them has been hanging around at the surface of the tank next to filter, not gasping for air though. the other is perfectly normal. I carried out a 50% water change yesterday and they were fine, both have been eating a little bit. I started to gradually turn up the temp of the tank this afternoon and wonder if this could be the cause, but then the other discus does not seem bothered by the slight rise. He is showing no visible signs of sickness, just looking a bit sad and still at the top of the tank, what could be the cause??

Please help, any advice greatly received

They are shoaling/group fish, without a group of at least 5 they feel insecure, unless a breeding pair. This means they they will stress, go off food, and become more susceptable top disease. If I were you I would sell the angels, and get 3 more discus, your tank may be a little small in the long term though.Temp should be 29-30C
