My sparkling Gourami, I've had him for about 8 months, he is in a 70 litre tank with Celestial pearl danios and Ember Tetras, no other species of fish, he used to swim freely in the tank, and always was about at feeding time.
But for the last month, he is permanently behind the outlet tube never moving, I check on him every day thinking he is dead, but he still alive never seeming to move, have not seen him feeding for a month, but he must be.. can't see him being frightened of his tank mates, never saw anything unusual when he was out and about?
Any ideas what has caused this behaviour.

Not sure what caused the personality change. You should check for injuries, breathing pattern and loss of colour just to make sure.

It may be stress-related? How's the tank's plant/decor cover looking?

It's not always an indicator of illness, but it's always concerning...

Gourami are like betta, and sometimes when getting a little older and have established their territory... They can have a tendency to become reclusive, in peculiar when it's a lonely male.

But, still not being the first out for food time is not normal...

Can you post a picture of the whole tank ?

They have some special "decor" requirements, that can make a big difference with their confidence in their feeling of security.

Floating plants to create cover, dimmed light, or at least a darker shadowed place. Vertical plants that reaches the surface to give shelter.
