Velvet is a parasite and can be treated with meds like parazin, but once it gets to the gills the fish will probably die

right okay, is it still learking in my tank, and would i treat the tank in the same way

My betta had velvet, or so i suspect. Quarantined him, got some meds and been medicating, not sure whats going on, but he seems worse off....colours are really dull...not eating. not sure what could be wrong. Not sure if he is just perhaps bored!?!?
