Whats This On My Java Fern?

about 2 weks after i purchaced this java fern i noticed that little black dots were forming on the leaves of the fern and has now stated to grow black leave type things out of the black dots and on top of one of the leaves thr seems to b a new leave growning out. does any body know what these are and what should i do with this new leave?

That'll be baby java ferns then. Let them develop to a decent size then you can pull them off (or wait for them to drop off) and attach them to your wood/rock etc as required. Or send them to the nice people on these forums :)
 
COOL!!! so is the black stuff on the leaves normal then? cuz i had a feeling that it was algea
 
You mean the "stringy" bits? Those are the roots of the new plantlets. It can look a little messy. Some suggest pruning the whole leave off of the mother plant to keep things tidy, and also to stop it diverting too many nutrients to the young plants, but its your choice :)
