Why do so many people think that myth about bettas in true? They don't live in a small space all of their life...bettas can survive in puddles in the dry season, but live and breed in slow-moving streams and rice paddies which are huge!
I been seeing that mentioned quite a few times in a couple threads around..assuming they live in puddles.NO! They do not! I hope that's cleared up now![]()
That being said, humanely the smallest i'd purchase is a 5 gallon.
My 5 gallon aquarium now is home to a young tarantula.10 gallons would even be better, remember it's a tropical fish.Easier to heat a 10 gallon.

5 gallons minimum. Heavily planted, slow flowing water to mimic natural environment.

Hi there, I wasn't saying they live in puddles, i said they are found in puddles(meaning in the dry season as you say), and people presume that thats where they live and so its ok to keep them in tiny bowls/vases. Sorry if it came across differently

Sorry for the same posts, my PC crashed!
