I had a fish die over the day today (internal parasites... treated with 2 rounds of meds that did nothing) and I'm not sure if there is anything that I should do to the tank. I just did a water change last night, so I dont really want to do another one as it was a good clean... close to 30% to get the meds out of the water.

I need to change me filter sleeve as well, but I need to wait at least a day more for that.

any suggestions?

When does it say you can retreat for the internal parasites.

What did you med with, and what made you think it was internal parasites?

what he said, and I usually just clean out the water, do a 20% water change, and check the condition of the other fish, everything always turned out ok for me!

His stomach was huge... he looked like whe was going to blow up. He wasn't pineconing, so I know he didn't have dropsy - I have dealt with that far to many times.

I could see tiny red threads under his 'skin'. Several people on here agreed that it sounded like parasites, as did 3 good workers at my lfs.

I treated with Myacin, and it said you can re-treat after 3 days

Flush and move on.

Seriously though, pretty follow through with the recommended treatment period.
