Hey all.

I have a 55 US gal tank - 48" long, 12" wide and 18" tall, set up with 50-60% plants - some fast some slow growers. Probably too much light, but fertilizing regularly. My filters right now are a Tetra Whisper EX70 filter (HOB) and a little power head just to get things moving (which didn't really work as well as I wanted so I added some air stones to get water moving in the areas the filter and power head don't touch). Talking Llj's advice, I think it's time to upgrade somehow. I think I need to move to a canister, but I don't know where to start looking. What sort of media should I look at? What turn around should I aim for?

Any advice you can give me would be great.

If it helps, this is the store I shop at, and the options I have to choose from Big Al's Filtration Selection

Thanks so much :)
