Fish Fanatic
I've got a 125g FW tank with an 18" Silver Arowana and a Fluval 405 canister filter. So far, everything's nice and ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites are at 0.
Howeverrrr, some other fish will be added (2 large Severums, large shovelnose), at which point I definitely need more filtration then this lil canister.
I don't want to get rid of it, but perhaps I could change all the filter things in here to mechanical/chemical, and then have a wet-dry trickle filter/sump to do some heavy-duty bio filtration. I've never used a wet-dry filter or a sump, but really adore the idea of both, and I think I understand how they work fairly well.
Basically, what's (in your opinion) the best sump/wet-dry filter that's commercially sold in the USA/ can be bought online? What's got the most bang for your buck? xP
Also, where is the cheapest place to buy it? ^^" College student budget = not much to spend on filters
I understand you can also make your own, but I don't understand how to incorporate a wet-dry into that, and fail to understand most of the tutorials... including Melev's reef website. If someone wants to babystep me through it (and without too many expensive/hard to find things to buy), that'd be fantastic too.
Thanks in advance!
