I have a fish tank (L100cm x W40cm x H45cm) which I had been keeping several fish in: 6 minnows - 1 male Siamese fighter - 3 female fighters - 5 rice fish - 6 harlequins - 6 pentazona barbs - 6 neon tetra. I had a 3D foam background and several plants in there. Unfortunately the tank was faulty and we had to replace it. Sadly, the fighters all died due to disease and the remaining fish were transferred to my other tank(L80cm x W40cm x H40cm). They are all doing fine! I have set up the replacement tank and the foam background has been set up in there. It has been set up for about a week now and I've noticed tiny little creatures swimming in the tank and moving around the glass. They are tiny and white and I haven't a clue what they are. Has anyone any ideas please? Many thanks

its either a parasite or dragonfly hatchlings, either way kill them quick and soak tank in a mild bleach solution then rinse good.

ooh yeah you really shouldn't have those fish fighters will get really stressed with flashy minnows and males and females should be seperated.

do they look a little like this : - but without the space between (together it makes a stupid smiley) and much smaller?

if so they are harmless micro organisms called rotifers which all tanks contain.
