i just looked in my tank and one of my columbian tetras looks like this

you cant see it very well in the pic but it looks opaque to the rear of its body

i havnt seen any of the other fish atacking the tetras

any ideas?

First thought is finrot, but that colour loss and no other fins being affected is odd, has it been in the same tank as the sick jurupari?? wondering if that has something its passed on?

Ah silly question what filter to you have? any chance is got caught in an intake strainer? could explain the missing bits of tail and the clight colour loss is damage trying to escape. (had that happen before  )

The filters are an fx5 and a eheim 20/28 and it was in the tank with the sick jurupari! :-( i feel like crying cause my fish are dying :-(

Is there more than the jurupari and tetra affected now? any white cotton like growths on anything? or any other fish looking like they have greyish patches? if so it could be Chilodonella

sorry posted completely wrong disease (kids annoying me while checking the spelling) suppose to have put COLUMNARIS

Is there any of the tail/fins actually missing or have they just lost their colour and gone see-through? Its a bit hard to tell from the photo.

If its the latter then one of my older colombians did this a week or two ago when I was giving the tank a bit of an overhaul, I figured it was just a little stressed. The colour gradualy returned over a few days and it's fine now.

If you've been having to catch the sick fish, or move things around in the tank or adding mediction then this might just have stressed him a little.

It looks like something has bitten off the tail. It's no disease I have ever seen. What's in the tank with them?

no its just thoes two, i cant see anything wrong with any of the others!

they are in there fith a firemouth, GT and a sev none of which really bother with the tetras.

the colour looks almost ss if fish goes when you cook it if that makes sense and it swims a little oddly

What size is the sev & GT, there is a possibility one of them has tried to eat it and its been too big and they have spat it out again or it escaped, that would explain the strange colour and the ragged tail if its gone that far into the mouth of the other fish, therefore wont be related to whatever is up with the jurupari (need a smiley wiping brow)

im not sure? could they fit that much of their body in their mouths? the gt and sev are only about 4" and the tetras ate about1.5"

Yeah their mouths are pretty big on all of them! Its very possible 1 of them tried to eat the tetra! You will have to watch for an aggressor!
