What's happening on this forum? 
It was so much fun here and now, all of a sudden, people are getting crazy over pointless things.
And I'm no better. When I came on today and read some of the posts that were written overnight (New York time) I found one written by a mod that was totally off the wall (IMHO). I almost wrote a very insulting reply; that's not like me at all!!!! Fortunatly, I was eager to see what else had been posted and did not write it. Now when I do I will soften my tone.
Yesterday, a thread was closed because of foolish argument. This is a shame, not only because of the argument, but because one of the last relevant posts directed the reader to a site with an article written by someone doing a craft project. This author gave a warning about using a possibly toxic substance in aquariums, but since I (or someone else) could not point that out, a reader of the thread who does not take the time to follow the link could easily come to the wrong conclusion about the product under discussion.
This forum is open to everyone: young and old, experienced and newbie, educated or not. IMO, those of us who are older and (LOL) wiser have a social responsibility to the kids that goes beyond fish. We need to show them, through our behavior, that differences of opinion are acceptable and can be worked out without getting personal. Each of us are in control of what we write or don't write. Sometimes, like in real life, it might be best to just walk away from something unpleasant rather than to continue on a lost cause.
The moderators here do a fantastic job!!!! They deserve our thanks and our respect. And so does Alien Anna!
