What Would You Pay For A Pair Of Guppies

Not wanting to get into a huge debate, but Guppy's are Guppys doesnt matter how you tart them up. If you wish to spend stupid money on what in essence is a beginner fish and "is" common as muck thats your business, someone asked peoples opinions and i gave it

Your opinion is valued DarkEntity, I don't agree, but there you go.

i saw some of these guppies in the flesh and i would and did pay for the quality that came up for grabs, common as muck!!!! nah not common as muck just awesome to see and have, the way in which they hold themselves and the finnage is incredible, the colours are out of this world and a lot of time and hard work has been put into giving the common as muck guppies a touch of class and its a joy to see and experience owning them and keeping the strains true.

the moscows are excellent quality and a little sad that i ran out of tank space otherwize i wouldve had them myself  but im working on it to make room to help with exploring the next few generations, BIG HINT HELTER :hyper:

where are you?

Hi im in the north east of england middlesbrough

Same you missed the auction then last week.
But I'll their will be more next year.

If i get more then I'm sure to post pics here though ;)

At the UK Fancy Guppies show last weekend (in derby) a pair of bottom sword guppies sold for £110

Its amazing what some people will pay

Is there any of these auctions near Birmingham???

Where abouts are you helterskelter??

I love guppies, my nan has a 3ft tank and all she has is guppies, thats all she will keep she loves them, they keep breeding and keep her tank going, plus she loves watching them give birth (I am still awaiting to watch this, due to working all the time)

I also keep cichlids, kribensis & fairy parrots

I will pay anything for a nice fish, no matter what sort they are whether they are guppies or cichlids, if I like them and want them I will pay anything.

Fish are so beautiful and relaxing, don't you think xxxxxxxxxxxx

I just couldnt pay that much for a guppy that has been selectivly been bred. However, each to their own. I would however, pay for a wild fish which is incredibly rare such as a zebra plec, which is thought to be extinct in the wild, just to breed them and keep the strain alive.

I am trying to do that with endlers, but it seems that every batch i get have an un-pure strain! (which is why its important to preserve the strain)

Their is a auction in December in Reddich, as well as other next year

As for me I'm in Dorset and never been that auction personally.

I would however, pay for a wild fish which is incredibly rare such as a zebra plec

At the auction same very rare fish was for sale like Ameca splendes which is thought to be extinct yet they could not even sell for £3
And several other that only for £5-10 so you can get very rare fish cheeply.
As for the Zebra their not exactly rare in the wild but they was being over fished and the government banned the collection and export of them. this is why their rare in the hobby.

P.S. i can get true endlers, yellow top swords, peacock's and a coule of other's but ut depends on the other people what they want for them and it's getting a little cold to post them now as well.

I think there is an auction near(ish) to Middlesborough every year.

I think it is the Caer Urfas (or something like that) club. Alan may be able to give you more details.
