Looks like a common m8 and they get very big & no there pretty much inpossible 2 sex unless they are breeding

if its a bristlenose it looks like a girl..look very very close around the nose area on the lip...can you see very faint bristles or whiskers?

how big in inches is it!

Yep he/she's grown pretty fast. In a 75 gallon right now.

3-4 inches around that. It's usually hiding inside that castle thingy so I don't see it much.

I'll go bug it and see if I can see anything distinguishing.

def not a bristlenose.......its same as my common plec

catfish are noctural,,,,,,they become active at lights out......once they get bigger like 7+inches you might start to see them out more and more

urs is a gibicep m8ee


and PA there really isnt a secure way of sexing unless its breeding and thats highly unlikely in a home aquarium

normally the gibbi is the spotty sort of 1 and normally a much bigger top fin... the common has more like lines
