Hello all
I have a male pingu guppy and wish to breed him with a female that will predominantly show the males markings and colouration amongst the fry. I am dreadful with genetics just getting into it, but what type of female should I be on the look out for. I know a pingu female would be best but the breeder is only releasing the males at this time. Any help or suggestions would be fab

The main problem u will have his finding a female that is not already holding sperm packets from other males, you would have to chose the female you want and then keep her alone for at least 6-7 months to make sure she is rid of all her sperm packets and does not give birth anymore, once this is accomplished, you can then start mating her with the male to get the specific type u want.

That is feasible and can certianly do that, of course if get a female from a spawn that would be good that would ensure a virgin for spawning but still unsure what colouration female should try to go for..

Im not sure really, never really been in to the genetic side of things, but maybe someone like oldman or helter could give u some good advice on this specific question.
