What To Stock A 5gallon With?

How can I upload my tank pic?
I'm far from an expert but have picked up a few things in the last few weeks of being a member here. Presume you either want to upload it as your signiture or for a post. Certain forums on here, e.g. planted tanks, allow you to browse for photos and add them as an attachment directly from your computer when you start a new topic, others don't. Not sure why. Either way, you need to obviously take your photos, I would suggest in the lowest resolution and compression possible on your camera. Then edit it to the correct size. Around 320 x 240 is good to put in a post I think, any larger and people have to scroll across to see your photos. If for your signiture then no more than 400 x 300.

1. Then go to www.imageshack.us
2. Browse for your edited photo.
3. Upload it.
4. Copy and paste the link in the section called "Hotlink for forums 1" either into your post or into your signiture.
5. Preview to make sure it's there.
6. Voila!

Hope that's helpful as I found it a pain in the backside at first as well.

well, atleast we kno NOT what to do now.

worst advice ive read.
No joke!

There are a few options with a 5 gallon... a betta (with optional ADF or ghost shrimp tankmates) or dwarf puffer are the obvious ones, but you can keep a pair of one of the smaller species of killifish in a 5 gallon as well (you'd have to ask someone else as to what species are suitable, I know nothing about killis.) I've kept "feeder" guppies in a 5 gallon before (1 male, 3 females), and they had plenty of room, but they were so weak due to inbreeding it was nearly impossible to keep them alive. Maybe some mosquito fish?

A male betta would love a 5 gal all to himself, but some can get skittish in a bigger tank so plant it and add decor so he has some cover.

Some other ideas:

- A pair or trio of cherry barbs: they're timid, peaceful little cuties and the males colour up real nicely.

- A pair of sparkling (croaking) gouramis: stunning, tiny fish that again, are quite shy but have really interesting behaviour.

And there are the mosquitofish - gambusia affinis or gambusia holbrooki, that Synirr suggested but if you are in Australia like I am, they're a pest and illegal to keep. They are tough as nails but real bullies.

listen majid you need a bigger tank what you are doing is cruel how would you like to live in a small cupboard because thats how it is for your fish the plec might not grow in that tank thats because he will suffer stunted growth he will not grow but his organs will putting him an a lot of pain an ultimatley a painful death you need to buy a bigger tank you wouldnt agree with cruelty to dogs such as beating them so dont be cruel to your fish just because they are fish they are still a living pet so dont abuse them
