What To Put Under Sand

Hi all
was looking for some ideas on what to put under a sand substrate,
i want to hava the sand substrate to be built up towards the back,
i have heard having the sand too deep in places can cause harmful gases,
the sand is black and i intend to have a good selection of plants and mosses
it's a 200ltr tank
all suggestions appreciated

i have never experienced any problems with gases and niether have many others n here, but if you worrid, why not have a layer of gravel under the deeper parts

I was thinking of something that would help with the plants.

as said i personally have never had a problem, i have plants but i do have cories/loaches plecos that shift the sand a lot

If you use gravel under sand, depending on how much the gravel will come to the top and the sand will go to the bottom

Get MTS to airate the sand you'll have to remove some every couple of months though and sell/kill/feed them to other fish, unless you want loads.

put some tropica plant substrate underneath that will help your plants then like nessar said get some MTS in there
