What To Put In A New 55 Gallon Tank

I have a new tank which I would like to put some cichlids in, I have 2 opaline gourami (female) and 2 platinum gourami (male/female) which I think I will be moving to this tank also. What american cichlids might be good to put in this tank? I was thinking of rams or acaras or maybe firemouths. If anyone has a similar tank or lots of knowledge help would be appreciated!!

also i need to add that I would like to have the fish in the tank reasonably easy to breed if possible.

I reckon u should put a dolphin in it....

Dolphins are malawi fish, so wont go in a New World set up.

How about some rainbow cichlids or a pair of keyholes?

you could do a pair of firemouths too. or one type of a larger breed, ie. a JD, GT, RD. I think you might be able to put a sev or two also

Sevs can get very big, so I'd think you'd only be able to get one in there at a push. Two, and the other fish would be very overcrowded.

Ya, I wasnt sure about sevs. Don;t have much experience/knowledge for them

a pretty easy fish to breed and come by would be a pair of salvani cichlids, very pretty with many colours and not that agressive
