What to put in a 2 gallon

I have a 2 gallon (US) hexagonal tank that I want to get going, but want to stock it right. I plan on fishless cycling/seeding from my established tank. Question I put to the experienced: what can I put in?

I was thinking something along the lines of:

Three rosy barbs
or
Two zebra danios

I realize that overstocking could be too easy, so I need to know what my limits are.

I'd put a betta or a gourami and 2 oto cats or an ADF and 2 oto cats. Rosy barbs and danios need more swimming room than a 2 gallon in order to be happy.

i'd stick with a betta!

No gouramis would be able to survive in there for long periods of time. Dwarfs need a minimum of 10 gallons

A betta is probably the best thing you could put in a 2 gallon.

I think it would make a great hospital tank.
