Hi all, i've a 2 x 1 x 1 tank with a sand substrate, and a well mature filter (the tank has been running for a year and my platties are going to be re-homed), would love to keep some bettas, ideally i'd like 3 females, i'm gonna buy some live plants but my question is, what other fish can i keep in the same tank?

Many thanks in advance,

Mark.

I think people will recommend you keep more than 3 females as a 'sorority', to allow a hierachy to form and avoid one taking all the bullying from the other two.

As for compatibility with other fish though they will be suitable with most small peaceful community fish.
It's easier for you to come up with a list of possible fish you'd like to add and to rule them out from their as opposed to listing the huge list of fish that are suitable.

If you are talking about feet, then 2 x 1 x 1 is a 15 gallon. That's what I keep my females in. There is only two in there right now but I put all the girls I'm not using for breeding in it, up to 12 or 15 without crowding. I only keep Guppies and Betta's and don't mix the two but have had other fish with them before. I've had community tanks in the past with the usual inhabitants like mollies, platies, zebra danios, dwarf gourami's,cory cats, guppies, black skirt tetra's and several others.
