I have a 20 gallon setup, its been running for about 3-4 months now, and I now have the money to get new fish. Right now i have a Dog Characin (Freshwater Barracuda) and a pleco(refer to the pics). I want to get 1-3 more fish within the next few weeks and want to know what you guys think would be good? i want nice exotic fish, not the regular run of the mill fish. The location of the tank is temporary.

I think before you buy any new fish at all you should get some more decor in there. The tank looks pretty bald and the gravel should be level, not up and down like that. You need some plants for sure and at least a few more rocks or ceramic decorations. What kind of pleco is it? If it is a common pleco they get at least a foot and way to big for your tank...

Your dog characin will get well over a foot in length and will eat any fish you put in there. I think you should take those fish out because both of them are unsuitable for a twenty gallon long tank.

About your dog characin
This explains the requirements for your fish and says it needs at least a 70 gallon tank.... :/

i'm going to move him into a 80 gallon tank in a few months when I have the money. I picked him up for 20$ USD which was a pretty good deal. He's lived for a few months without any problems.

Well yeah he's just saying he is Going to get big.. Wont he eat other fish you would put in there? Maybe put him with some gar or pike! lol :) It says to put them with a more agressive fish about the asme size.. Expect some fatalities... I bet a few puffers could hold their own? Wait no, that just sounds reeeeall bad.. Puffers with a barracuda?
