hello members
i am new to the hobby
i have quite a large coldwater tank
i feed my fish on flakes and bloodworn pellets i wanted to give them a change
i have read lettuce and cumcumber and peas i know this sounds daft but how small do i chop it up do i chop it finely or put a big piece in i know to part boil it first and deshell the peas
also it says daphinia is good for them what is this
it say brineshrimp and mysis shrimp is this all correct
i have goldfish/blackmoors/fancy goldfish and a catfish/sucker fish which i feed catfish pellets
any help pleaSE

PS i have also read sinking pellet food (tetra japan) is good is this correct

Lettuce needs to be blanched, cucumber should be sliced and cut into quarters depending on the size of your fish and peas need to be boiled and de shelled.

I'm not sure about Daphnia or mysis but Brineshrimp is good for them yes. You could also feed them zucchini slices, prepare them like cucumber.

I hope this helps

For the lettuce you'll need to put in boiling water for a minute, then put it straight into cold water. Then just tear it into leaf like shapes.

feed them food.....

 okay now after pointing out the obvious, a mixed diet is best, try having 2 types of flakes, some live food it also good like live bloodworms. peas, i microwave them for 3 mins then de-shell them and chop them up into tiny little peaces so they dont choak on them. i put the peas in cold water after microwaving so they dont burn a silly little fishy

This method is known as blanching
